Sunny Goes to the Doctor

Today was all about me, Sunny, the dog. My mom took me to Thompson, Manitoba to go see my doctor. I love my doctor. He has saved my life at least twice -- once before I came to live with my mom (I got hit by a vehicle) and once back in March when I chewed something that made a yucky abscess in my throat.

This is a picture of me driving down my street wearing my seat belt.

This is a picture of me at Canadian Tire. We went there before we went to see my doctor. They don't usually let dogs in, so at first I stayed in the truck with a friend. After the second set of seat covers didn't fit, my mom got ticked off and refused to have me stay in the vehicle for her THIRD trip into the store. Mom smiled a lot and tried to sound polite as we walked in and I did my job and looked cute.

I love my doctor. I weigh 15.2 kg and am in excellent health. My teeth are great and my lungs clear. My temperature was normal.

(Enough said about that temperature! Ew!)

I had my rabies shot. I didn't even feel it because mama tickled my ears. I don't have to have another shot 'til 2014! YAY!

This is me asking my doctor, "You got treats in that pocket?"

After the vet we went to Walmart to get  dirt for Ladybug and Mew. Then we went through the drive-through at A&W. I got to have TWO hamburger patties... a Papa burger takes me approximately 1 minute to eat. Maybe less time.

MMm-mmm!

We drove by this sign twice today. Did you know that there are 111 km/69 miles in one degree of latitude? I live 111 km south and several kilometres east of this sign.

(I peed on the sign, by the way)

This is Jenpeg Hydro-electricity Generating Station. The turbine is under the road, which is to say that we got to drive over the dam! Damn!

The water goes through from right to left. This is what the left side looks like.

This is what I look like sleeping while mama takes pictures of the dam for me.
It's good to have someone with opposable digits in your inner-circle.

Oh! Today I got stuff! I earned my rabies tag:
Only $94.78 and worth every penny!

AND my mama bought me a 6.5 kg box of MILKBONES!

YUM YUM YUM!
For you non-metric folks that's just over 14 lbs.

My mom bought me a new bed. Ladybug and Mew keep stealing my beds. We were home all of ten minutes and look what happened:
Ladybug! Paws off!

It's good to go places, but it's even better to come home.

I love being home!
This is Sunny, signing off. May the cats in your dreams want to play, and may they let you win sometimes.

xox, Sunny

  2. Hi Sunny!

Brandy weight around 14kgs so I think you probably are a little bigger than she is. Although she does have a big appetite.

You are very lucky! Brandy has never been to a store. She likes the vet too but has become allergic to shots so she probably won't have them again.

I hope you didn't bite the vet like Brandy did that time.

Oh and boot that cat out of your bed!

    1. I went to a lot of stores this summer. I went shopping at Penningtons with my mom. I was good. I am good at looking cute. People like that.

I have never bit anyone. Mom has never even seen me snap. She says she hopes I never will.

My weight is high for a cocker spaniel and I'm tall for a cocker spaniel, too. A lot of people ask mom what kind of dog I am and when she says, "Cocker Spaniel" they argue with her and tell her, no, I'm not, I must be something else because I am too big. So now when someone asks her she says, "He's a cute dog, aren't you, Sunny?"

    2. People ask if I'm really a Golden Retriever, because I have such long plumes. I like your comeback. I think I'll start telling people that don't believe my pedigree that I've been photoshopped.

  4. Hi, Sunny. Mattie likes going to the vet, too. She always has a good time there. They always talk to her and give her treats. Yep, she really does like the vet. But she does not like going for rides in the car.

    1. I ADORE car rides. Does Mattie feel sick during car rides? Sometimes shorter dogs feel sick because they can't see out the window. Maybe she needs a booster seat or something.

    1. That is a very good idea. Do you suppose other dogs would like to know how to use their cuteness to get away with stuff? Right now I am typing while on the couch and my paws are dirty. My mom won't say anything.
